" I can't seem to remember the last time we went to the mall, watched a movie together or went to a restaurant. The covid pandemic has changed the life around here. The only sounds that can be heard are the chirping of birds and the soft sound of leaves, gently blown by the wind. Even though the area seems calm on the outside, it cannot be more worrisome. As we receive the news of hundreds of thousands of cases every day, the situation seems to be getting more tense by the day.
Even though I wish for the pandemic to be over as soon as possible and we can meet our friends and colleagues again, there are a few things I believe we have learnt from being isolated. The most important one being the time you spend with yourself. Even though, the streets are isolated, the sound of the cars and the people is gone, the calmness and the serenity can be felt. It is almost like, Mother Nature has given us a realisation of how beautiful it can be. I could never appreciate the time spent by myself in the busy and hectic school life as I was rushing about trying to finish my homework by the end of the day, study and going to play.
While I like the time that the pandemic has given me to think, I wish for it to be gone so that we can meet our friends and relatives. Just the appreciation of the life before this teaches us a lesson to not take anything for granted. You only realize the value of something as it is taken away from you.
I hope that we power through this by staying indoors and following the safety precautions as advised by the doctors. "
